We drive from Baños to Puyupungo to the nature reserve Hola Vida. On the way we visit a wildlife sanctuary. We descend in dugout canoes along the Rio Puyo and visit the village of Cotococha. There we eat a traditional lunch prepared by the indigenous community and we get some explanation about the local lifestyle. We then take a nice walk through the jungle and learn about the plants and animals of the Amazon. The walk ends at a waterfall where we can stand under to refresh ourselves. Then we return by car to Baños.
Difficulty: easy.
What to bring: Sun and rain protection, light clothes, mosquito spray and water.
