Ecuador has won a little piece of our heart.
Sometimes a trip comes along that means a little more than just "going on holiday". Ecuador was one of those trips. From the very first day we felt this would be a special adventure. A country full of colours, scents, impressive landscapes and warm people.
Ecuador surprised us time and again. From lively markets and beautiful cities to the silence of the mountains, from the green cloud forest to the impressive volcanoes and crater lakes… Every day brought a new wow moment. The beautiful nature, the colourful traditions and the friendly people made a deep impression.
The beautiful haciendas were an experience in themselves. Every evening the fireplace was lit for us and there was a hot-water bottle in our lovely soft bed. The hotels were great too, each with its own charm. We enjoyed the beautiful locations and the delicious, typically Ecuadorian meals. Especially the generous breakfasts were always a wonderful start to a new day of adventure.
Thank you, Tom, for organising this wonderful trip. Thanks to your knowledge and passion for Ecuador it became an unforgettable journey. You made us feel safe: every evening you sent a message asking how our day had gone and gave us the details for the next day's outing. The drivers were always punctual and friendly, and our guides were pleasant company too.
Ecuador touched us with its beauty, its people and its pure authenticity.
