The Cotopaxi Volcano
The driver will pick you up at the hotel in the morning. The National Park is an hour’s drive from Quito. On cloudless days you can admire the mountain from afar. After a short stop at the Mariscal Sucre information point, where you get some explanation about the region and the volcano, we continue to an altitude of 4500 m. From here we go to the refuge, which is 365 meters higher. It is a very steep walk that takes us at least an hour given the high altitude. Then we descend to the Limpiopungo lake at the foot of the volcano. This lake is fed by a volcano glacier; you often see wild horses grazing here and Andean foxes hunt. Then we return to the hotel by car.

After a break we return to the parking where we start the downhill. We take the bikes and descend to 3900 meters towards the Limpiopungo lake where wild horses graze. After this we return to the hotel.

Tour around the crater lake of Quilotoa
This well-known deep blue crater lake is located high in the mountains. It has a diameter of three kilometers and there are three lava peaks that reach up to 3,800 mt height. In clear weather we get a phenomenal view of the surrounding mountains. In the morning we are picked up by a car at the hotel. Together with the guide we start our walk around the lake. Along the way we enjoy the peace and the beautiful view that this walk offers us. After the hike we drive back to the hotel.
Difficulty: moderate. Bring along: protection against the sun and rain, sturdy walking shoes, water, warm sweater, walking sticks and a camera.
Descent Crater Lake Quilotoa and visit Tigua
The guide will pick you up at the hotel and take you to the Quilotoa crater lake. On the way you will make a stop in the village of Tigua, known for its colorful paintings made on both wood and sheepskins. Once arrived in Quilotoa we first visit the viewpoint where you get a breathtaking view over this azure blue lake. We then make a steep descent to the shores of the lake; here you can either walk further or rent a kayak to go out on the lake and take pictures. Then we start the tough climb back to the rim of the crater, until we get to the car and drive back to the hotel.

Saquisili indigenous market
The Andean region is known for its large number of small and large markets. Today you will be introduced to the Saquisili market. Saquisili is a small village located near the Cotopaxi volcano. It is an important place for the trade of vegetables, fruit, livestock, poultry, guinea pigs, etc. On Thursdays it is bustling with life and you can see Indians from the region with their typical ponchos buying food but also bidding for the most beautiful llama. to take home. Zumbahua indigenous market
Zumbahua is located high in the mountains, between vast paramo landscapes and glacial valleys. The village is known for its Saturday market, which attracts the indigenous population in large numbers. The farmers here sell their livestock and the vegetables and fruit they grow in the region. Negotiations are taking place everywhere. You will be brought to the market and picked up at an agreed time.
